Location and Transportation

Venue Address

MacEwan Hall

2500 University Drive NW

Calgary, Alberta T2N 1N4, Canada

MacEwan Hall sits within Calgary city limits on the University of Calgary campus, making it convenient for locals and visitors alike.

• Parking: On-site and nearby university parking lots and garages are available; parking fees may apply, especially during major events.
• Public Transit: Easily accessible via Calgary Transit. The University CTrain station is nearby, along with several bus routes.
• Rideshare & Dropoff: Designated pickup and dropoff zones are available on campus — follow university signage for event drop-offs near the main entrance.

Arrival Recommendations

Aim to arrive 60–90 minutes before your event. This buffer helps secure parking on busy nights and is especially helpful for general admission concerts where early arrival can mean a prime spot near the stage. If you’re taking the CTrain, you’ll have a straightforward walk from the University station to the venue.

Weather won’t be a concern — MacEwan Hall is an indoor venue — but Calgary’s seasons can affect your trip to and from campus. Dress for the elements when moving between transit stops, parking areas, and the hall. Some walking is required from university lots and garages, so plan a few extra minutes.

If you’re meeting a group, pick a clear campus landmark (like the MacEwan Student Centre) as your meetup point to streamline entry. Rideshare users should watch for campus signage and use designated zones to avoid delays.

Venue Navigation

MacEwan Hall’s layout is straightforward, with a large, open main floor that shifts between standing and seated configurations to suit concerts, conferences, and galas. Wayfinding inside the building is simple, and you’ll find clear signage to help you move between the hall, restrooms, and exits.

Concession stands operate during events, and merchandise booths are common at concerts for tour apparel and memorabilia. Because the hall is located within the MacEwan Student Centre, you’ll also have access to additional amenities in the complex, including ATMs and campus services — a plus if you want quick snacks or need to regroup before the show. For standing-room concerts, comfortable footwear goes a long way.

Security and Policies

• Bag Policy: Check event-specific guidelines; university venues often have size restrictions.
• Prohibited Items: Typically includes outside food and beverage, weapons, and illegal substances.
• Re-entry Policy: Often no re-entry for concerts; check event details.
• Service Animals: Service animals are permitted as per university and provincial guidelines.

Post-Purchase Tips — Be Ready for Event Day

• Download your tickets before arriving — cell service can be limited.
• Bring a valid ID and cashless payment option.
• Charge your phone fully.
• Review venue policies in advance.
• Arrive early for general admission concerts to secure a preferred spot near the stage.
• If you’re new to campus, consider using the University CTrain station for a simple, stress-free arrival.

Pre-Event Planning

Make the most of your night by planning a few campus stops before showtime. The MacEwan Student Centre has multiple quick-service dining options for a pre-show bite and plenty of space to meet friends. If your schedule allows, arrive early to explore the lively university atmosphere — MacEwan Hall events often align with campus activities, adding to the energy.

For groups, share your seating plan or GA strategy ahead of time, then pick an easy-to-find landmark as a rally point. The MacEwan Hall seating chart is especially helpful if your event offers reserved seats or VIP sections — confirm your sections and entry points before you arrive to speed up your entry.

Keep an eye on transit schedules if you’re using the CTrain or buses. For drivers, pre-purchase parking when possible or arrive early to find a prime spot in nearby lots and garages.

Accessibility

MacEwan Hall is ADA-accessible, with accessible parking available in university lots, dedicated accessible seating options, and wheelchair access supported by elevators and ramps within the building. If you need accommodations, contact the venue or event organizer in advance to arrange the best possible viewing location.
