Team Information

UC Santa Barbara Gauchos Basketball tickets put you right in the middle of the Big West Conference action in Santa Barbara, California. The UC Santa Barbara Gauchos compete in NCAA Division I and have built a reputation as a tough, postseason-chasing program in a league packed with high-energy matchups. With the Gauchos’ blue and gold on display, game nights feel like a true campus event—fast-paced basketball, loud moments, and a crowd that’s ready to get behind every run.

UCSB has proven it can break through when it matters most, earning two NCAA Tournament appearances (1988, 2011). Those trips came with two Big West Tournament championships (1988, 2011)—the clearest path to March basketball and a major milestone in the program’s story. The Gauchos have also produced standout talent, including Brian Shaw, a former Gaucho who went on to a long NBA playing career and later became an NBA head coach (Denver Nuggets). Another key name is Orlando Johnson, a major contributor on the 2011 NCAA Tournament team who later played professionally, including in the NBA.

At home, the Gauchos play at The Thunderdome, a venue known for a loud, close-to-the-court environment that makes every possession feel personal. With a 5,600 capacity and an intimate setup, it’s the kind of place where you can track the game’s momentum shift in real time—especially when the crowd rises during a big stop or a crucial late-game possession. Rivalry energy adds even more to the atmosphere, with Cal Poly bringing a regional edge and matchups against UC Irvine and Long Beach State often carrying serious conference implications.

In the recent era, Joe Pasternack leads the program as head coach, and UC Santa Barbara continues to carry a Big West contender identity in the 2020s. If you love the feeling of being there for meaningful conference battles—and you want a college hoops environment that’s energetic, tight-knit, and loud—this is a great team to see live. TicketPurchase.com makes it easy to be part of the excitement with secure tickets, real-time seat maps, and verified checkout.
