Lee Ritenour tour

Experience Jazz Fusion Guitar Legend Live with TicketPurchase.com

Performer Information

Few artists in jazz fusion have shaped the sound quite like Lee Ritenour. Born in Los Angeles and emerging in the late 1960s, he became a defining force in contemporary jazz, smooth jazz, and fusion—both as a solo artist and as a founding member of Fourplay. The Lee Ritenour tour brings that legacy to stages around the world, uniting longtime fans and new listeners with his fluid, melodic guitar voice and sophisticated arrangements.

Ritenour’s debut solo album, First Course (1976), set the tone for a career blending jazz, funk, and pop with effortless precision. He followed quickly with Captain Fingers (1977), then crossed into mainstream recognition with Rit (1981), featuring the Billboard Hot 100 hit “Is It You.” Momentum continued with Rit/2 (1982), Banded Together (1984), and Portrait (1987), before he delivered the acclaimed Wes Bound (1993)—a tribute to Wes Montgomery that earned a Grammy nomination. He revisited and reimagined earlier works on A Twist of Rit (2015), underscoring his constant evolution.

A Grammy winner with multiple nominations, Ritenour’s influence spans generations of guitarists and jazz fans. His catalog continues to thrive in the streaming era, with 364,300 monthly listeners on Spotify as of March 2026. As a session great, supergroup collaborator, and boundary-pushing solo artist, he’s helped shape the course of modern jazz and fusion.

A Lee Ritenour concert is all about musicianship and feel—extended solos, top-tier band interplay, and a relaxed, engaging presence. He headlines major jazz festivals and performs in jazz clubs, theaters, and concert halls worldwide, delivering polished, intimate shows that put the music front and center. Expect a set that flows from lyrical melodies to high-wire improvisation with seamless grace.
