Andy Mckee tour

Experience Internationally Acclaimed Fingerstyle Guitar Virtuoso Live with TicketPurchase.com

Performer Information

Andy Mckee tour dates give fans a chance to see one of the most internationally recognized names in contemporary fingerstyle acoustic guitar. Andy McKee is a solo artist from Topeka, Kansas, United States, celebrated for modern percussive, instrumental acoustic playing that blends folk, jazz, blues, and more into a single, full-sounding performance. His style is built around creating melody, bass, and rhythm at once—so even a solo set can feel massive in the room.

McKee is widely known for a highly technical—but deeply musical—approach that uses two-hand tapping, alternate tunings, and integrated percussion on the guitar body. Signature touches include snare-like slaps, harp-like harmonics, and dense “orchestral” arrangements that turn one acoustic guitar into a complete rhythm section. His influences include Michael Hedges, Preston Reed, Billy McLaughlin, and Prince, and his work helped popularize modern percussive fingerstyle to mainstream online audiences—sparking a wave of younger players inspired by the sound.

His catalog includes a run of major releases that showcase the evolution of his composition style and technique, including _Art of Motion_ (2005), _Gates of Gannaway_ (2007), _Joyland_ (2010), _Mythmaker_ (2014), and _Resolution_ (2019). Many fans first connected with his breakthrough-era material on _Art of Motion_, a project closely associated with his signature modern fingerstyle approach and groove-driven, lyrical acoustic themes.
